Unity Developer

📍 Vijayawada 🏷️ Game Development 💰 ₹73,500 / month
There's an opening for a Unity Developer at a game studio based in Gandhi Nagar, Vijayawada. It's a full-time, on-site role, paying INR 73,500 a month.

Who we're looking for

A bachelor's degree is the baseline requirement, typically in computer science, game design, or a related field. The studio cares less about the exact major and more about whether you understand how a game engine actually works under the hood. On the experience side, candidates need 30 months of hands-on time building with a game engine. That's long enough to have shipped something, or at least gotten close, and to have learned from whatever went wrong along the way.

The day-to-day

Most days start with picking up a feature from the sprint board, whether that's a new enemy behavior, a UI system, or a physics-based puzzle mechanic, and turning it into something playable in Unity.
  • Write gameplay code in C# and build out core mechanics inside Unity
  • Partner closely with designers and artists so the feature matches what was actually intended, not just what the ticket says
  • Track down bugs, including the kind that only show up on specific devices or after twenty minutes of continuous play
  • Apply game physics and 3D math to keep character movement, collision, and camera work feeling natural
  • Profile and optimize performance so the build holds a steady frame rate on target hardware ahead of release
One example from a recent sprint: a jump mechanic worked fine at 60 fps but broke down at 30 fps on lower-end phones because the physics timestep wasn't decoupled from the frame rate. That's the kind of problem this role is built to catch and fix before it ships.

Skills we need

Unity and C# are non-negotiable, alongside a real working knowledge of game physics, 3D math, and debugging. We're also looking for some creative instinct. Someone who can look at a mechanic and suggest a small tweak that makes it more fun, not just implement the spec as written, tends to fit well on this team. The listing for this role was posted on Naukri Mitra, along with several other openings in the studio's engineering group. A few extras that would help, though none are required:
  • A shipped mobile or PC title you can point to, even a small one
  • Shader writing or Shader Graph experience
  • AR or VR project work
  • Comfort using Git in a team codebase

Pay and benefits

The salary is INR 73,500 a month. Beyond that, the role comes with health insurance, paid time off, and provident fund contributions. Because this is an on-site position and the studio often hires from outside Vijayawada, relocation assistance and accommodation support are also part of the package.

What the studio is like

It's a small team, so a Unity Developer here ends up touching several parts of the game rather than staying locked into one system. Release weeks get busy, and crunch does happen in the run-up to a launch, but things quiet down noticeably once a build ships. If you like variety and don't mind an occasional intense stretch, that rhythm tends to suit people well.

How to apply

Send over a resume and a link to playable work; a build, a game jam entry, or a shipped title all count. Skip the concept art and pitch decks unless there's something playable behind them. Candidates who move forward will do a short technical round that includes a hands-on Unity exercise, followed by a conversation about start date and logistics.
