ETL Developer

📍 Vadodara 🏷️ Data Engineering & BI 💰 ₹74,000 / month

ETL Developer

A data engineering team in Alkapuri, Vadodara, is hiring an ETL Developer for a full-time, on-site role, with pay going up to ₹74,000 a month.

What You'd Be Doing

This role sits at the center of how the company's data actually flows. You'd build and maintain pipelines that pull information from several source systems and land it somewhere the business teams can use.
  • Design and maintain ETL pipelines that move data between operational systems and the reporting layer
  • Pull data from multiple sources, including databases, files, and third-party feeds, and reconcile it into a consistent format
  • Build reports and dashboards that business teams rely on for day-to-day decisions
  • Check and clean data along the way, catching mismatches, duplicates, or gaps before they reach a dashboard someone's about to present
A pipeline that silently breaks overnight is the kind of problem this role exists to prevent. Part of the job is putting checks in place so a bad load gets caught early, not discovered by a confused business analyst three days later.

Skills You'll Need

Strong SQL is non-negotiable, since most pipeline logic and data validation runs through it. Beyond that, the company wants someone comfortable with an ETL tool such as Informatica or Talend, familiar with data warehousing concepts, and able to write scripts to automate the repetitive parts of the job. Being able to script in Python will save you time on the repetitive parts of the job. Exposure to a BI or reporting platform such as Power BI or Tableau is useful too, since you'll be handing off data to people who build on top of it. Any background with pipeline orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, or with a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake or Azure Synapse, would put an application ahead of the pile, though it isn't required to apply.

Qualifications and Experience

This role sits at the bachelor's degree level academically, with computer science or IT being the natural fit, though a comparable technical background would work too. On the experience side, the company is looking for candidates with around 42 months in a similar data engineering or ETL development role, ideally with real, hands-on time spent building and troubleshooting pipelines rather than only studying the theory behind them.

Compensation and Benefits

Along with a monthly salary of up to ₹74,000, the role includes health insurance, paid time off, and provident fund contributions. Since the position is based on-site in Vadodara, the employer also offers relocation assistance and accommodation support for candidates moving from out of town.

The Team and the Setup

You'd be joining a Data Engineering and BI team where pipeline work and reporting sit close together, so you're not just writing ETL jobs in isolation and handing them off with no context. Requests come in from business teams fairly often, and the expectation is that you can talk through what a dashboard needs before you start building the pipeline behind it. Naukri Mitra is handling the hiring process for this opening, and the employer has said they're keen to bring someone on board soon. The office is in Alkapuri, which keeps things straightforward for anyone already based in Vadodara, and relocation support is available for those who aren't.

Applying

If you've spent the last few years building or maintaining data pipelines and want to bring that experience to a smaller, closer-knit team, this is worth a look. Send through your resume with a note on the kind of pipelines or reporting systems you've worked on before, particularly anything involving SQL-heavy transformations or ETL tools like Informatica or Talend. Shortlisted candidates should expect a technical round covering SQL and data pipeline design, followed by a conversation about the specific systems the team uses day-to-day.
